Part 2 of a special in-studio discussion with Roberta about current events, her life, career spanning over three decades in the television and radio business where she has won many awards including 7 Emmy Awards, and what it was like leaving broadcasting to start her own production company. About Roberta Gonzales Roberta got her start in broadcasting as disc jockey in San Diego and went on to be a fixture on nightly TV in the San Francisco Bay Area as the Weather Anchor on KPIX 5 for twenty one years.

She's received countless awards from Emmys to Associated Press to Radio & Television News Director Association awards as well as precious community honors.

It all began as a dream from an ambitious 11 year old who wanted to “report the news to the people”. From San Diego to San Luis Obispo to San Jose to Chicago to San Francisco.

She describes her life as a country song. She'sI filled in “on set in New York” for the Today Show and CBS This Morning. She's worked through earthquakes, tornadoes, 911 and more personally, deaths of mom, dad, two brothers, grandmother, grandfather, aunts, uncles, best friends and a dog of 17 years.

Three years ago she started Roberta Gonzales Productions to pursue her production ambitions. When not producing shows you can still find her doing the weather from time to time on KTVU 2 News FOX in the San Francisco Bay area.
